Want to go outside and play basketball after,
But right now, I’m online building a castle.
It sits high in the hills above a blue sea that sparkles.
I add a huge door before I build a fireplace.
Time is flying by; it feels good to create.

I like being in charge; I can make bold choices
To express myself and my unique voice. It’s
Taking a long time to build this fireplace,
And after that, I really want to build a staircase.
But wait. I also want to play basketball.
I’ve been at this so long that my neck’s getting sore.
That’s when I realized I need to take a break—
Because earlier, I was in control of the game,
But now it feels like the game is in charge.
It’s time to save my work and grab my basketball.

A few days later, I’m back at my castle,
But this time, I’d like to be more responsible,
So I set a timer for 30 minutes.
That’s my screen time limit; when it’s over, that’s it.
I still need a window for light to shine through it,
And I found a website that tells me how to do it.
I’m not supposed to visit sites without permission,
But I really want to make this sunlight glisten,
So I go anyway without telling anybody.
And immediately, I see a message pop up,
Asking where I go to school. That’s private information.
I’m in charge here, and I don’t talk to strangers.
Some websites are scary or just too adult,
So asking for permission is the responsible
Thing to do. So, I go and find my mom to see
If she can help me find a site that’s right for me.
